Counselling
Person-centred counselling is...
An established counselling method designed to allow you to explore your life experiences at your own pace in a safe, non-judgemental space with the aim of getting to know yourself better. My role as your counsellor is to offer you unconditional acceptance so that you may feel safe enough to accept yourself.
I prefer not to prescribe antidotes or offer solutions, but rather work with you to create coping strategies that work for you.
As your counsellor I will...
Strive to always be open and honest with you, to provide you with acceptance free from judgement, and to give you empathy. I will be there for you, in that moment, without judgement.
I will always conduct myself in a professional and healthy manner, to ensure your safety and security.
I will be open to suggestions and provide you with information and resources on anything you would like to try, such as mindfulness techniques or anger management exercises.
I will always keep your information strictly confidential at all times.
I will be there when I say I will be there, to honour the time we spend together. If I cannot be there due to emergency or illness I will give you as much notice as possible.
I will always be open to feedback from you. If you ever find yourself struggling with any aspect of the therapy, I will listen non-defensively and strive to work through it with you so we can make you feel as comfortable as possible.
If you are ever in immediate or life threatening danger, I will ensure to get the proper help for you by contacting Emergency Services or another professional.
Rates and Other Practicalities
My charge is £40 per hour for online/telephone sessions, and £50 for face-to-face sessions.
I do request that my clients pay by Paypal or bank transfer prior to the scheduled session taking place (a receipt can be provided upon request).
I also ask that my clients give me at least 24 hours notice before cancelling an appointment, unless in cases of emergency or illness.
